Google announces the name of the next Android OS, Android 7.0 Nougat

After months of guessing the name and version number of the successor to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow , Google has finally deemed it fit to save us the stress.

Google announced the name of the successor to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow some hours ago, and it is (wait for it!) Android v7.0 Nougat, cool or it isn’t what you were expecting from the list of names? . Past Android OS’s have been named after desserts and this one is no different. The upcoming Android Nougat takes its name from Nougat, a family of confections made with honey, roasted nuts, whipped egg whites, and sometimes chopped candied fruits – hope your not salivating.

That said, Android 7.0’s (Android Nougat) name announcement means we will be seeing the OS sometime in the second halve of the year. Google’s Nexus device is sure to debut with the latest Android OS and other smartphone producers, Samsung, LG, HTC, Hauwei, that are in the habit of releasing updates to their devices, will follow suit, perhaps months later. As for the more familiar Smartphone producers here in Nigeria, we cannot say what to expect but going by the good steps Tecno and Infinix are now taking, we should be getting an update from them for some of their major devices.
Sources say that they are already on the fourth developer level which means just one more level to go,we might be having our new O.S sooner than I thought.
This is all we have on the name release,
