A Kirobo Mini Robot that can converse with human beings got launched recently in Japan by it Toyota developer and would go on sale in Japan next year.





The Kirobo Mini is designed specially to keep people's company. It can comment about journeys based on data from its owner's vehicle in a discussion format.

The 10cm(4in)tall Robot has behaves like a child but a Robotics experts says the Robot cannot replace a child. Some of the Toyota marketing materials shows women rocking the child but Toyota says the Robot makes people relaxed, it shakes like a baby who has not learnt how to sit properly or work very well, it is also as cute as a baby but has no human parts therefore it can not be treated as a child but can engage in a casual conversation with their owners.

Toyota says the Kirobo Mini converse with their owners using gestures, facial expressions and blinking, it remembers previous events that shows the likes and the dislikes of their owners and when going on an outing with it owner, it uses data from the home or car devices that are connected to it to generate a subject matter to discuss with it owner.

The Kirobo Mini is cheaper than any other Robot. It's provisional price is 39,800 yen(£300) and Toyota is not planning to sell the Robot outside Japan.
